Meet the Staff
MACED
Angie Allman, Forestry Program Associate, joined the team in the fall of 2010 after working with MACED for almost six years as Accounting and Payroll Clerk. She graduated from Berea College with a B.S. in Agriculture and Natural Resources and has previously worked in environmental policy. Angie handles landowner paperwork and updates and manages all landowner data and transactions. Contact Angie at aallman@maced.org.
Irene DeLuna, Forestry Marketing and Development Associate, joined the team in July 2009 with a B.S. in Agriculture and Natural Resources. Irene is responsible for grant writing and reporting for the Forestry Program as well as marketing Appalachian Forest Offsets to potential buyers by coordinating sales transactions, designing promotional materials and developing the ACP website. Irene has previous experience in child development, community programming, and environmental education. Contact Irene at ideluna@maced.org.
Scott Shouse, our Forester and Program Manager, attained a M.S. in Forestry from the University of Kentucky and has been with the team since January 2008. Scott’s many responsibilities include quality control, data inventory, market analysis and offset management. Contact Scott at bsshouse@maced.org.
Krystina Sandefur is our part-time intern and assists Irene and Angie with marketing, research and office maintenance. She is currently a senior at Berea College where she will graduate with a B.A. in Biology and Political Science in the spring of 2012. Contact Krystina at ksandefur@maced.org.

Rural Action
Susi Rankis, the Sustainable Forestry Program Administrator at Rural Action, is responsible for the smooth functioning of the Sustainable Forestry Program and its three program areas (The ACP, Green and Regionally Oriented Wood Products, and Landowner Education, including: Forest Botanicals and Oil and Gas Lease Education). Susi holds a B.A. in Geography from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. Contact Susi at susi@ruralaction.org.
Tanyah Stone joined Rural Action as the Carbon Marketing Specialist in 2011. The owner of Moxie Solutions LLC, Tanyah is a certified project management professional (PMP) and holds an MBA and an MS in Aeronautical Science. Tanyah is a captain in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and currently lives and works on her family property, the Meadowview Farm, selected as Tree Farm of the Year for 2011 by the Ohio chapter of the American Tree Farm System. Appalachian Sustainable Development
Emily Lachniet has a B.S. in Professional Forestry from Michigan State University. She moved to Virginia in 2001 and has a background working in forestry, water quality and education. She serves as Appalachian Sustainable Development’s Carbon Outreach Coordinator. Contact Emily at elachniet@asdevelop.org.
Laura Polant, is the part-time Appalachian Sustainable Development (ASD) Carbon Outreach Specialist. She has a B.S. in Forestry and Wildlife from Virginia Tech, a M.S. in Environmental Education, and a 25-year career working in Natural Resources, including the Virginia Department of Forestry, Virginia Game and Inland Fisheries, US Forest Service Wildland Firefighting, conservation easements, and consulting.
